ACCOMMODATION
We offer 10 bedrooms between the ground and the two upper floors. The stairway is winding and the stairs ‘shallow’. Atholl Villa is a 120 year old house and not a ‘purpose built’ guest house; it has much character and also bedrooms that differ in size. Our pricing policy takes account of the variations in room size.
- For less able guests we offer two ground floor rooms, a standard double bedroom and a large twin bedroom.
- The double bedroom has a large en-suite with shower cubicle, otherwise no adaptations.
- The large twin bed room has pull-cords on curtains and wall lights, a low wall mounted remote controlled television and optional low clothes rail in the wardrobe. The twin beds are of standard height.
The en-suite is sufficiently large to permit manoeuvring of a wheelchair within. The WC is standard height. Wash-basin is standard height with ‘lever’ type taps. The shower cubicle is rectangular with low floor threshold (around 1 ¼ inches) but not ‘wheel-in’. The cubicle side panels are low level with two opening corner panels to permit easy access. Privacy is maintained by shower screens. A chair is provided however if a support is generally used it is best to bring your own if possible.
Access to and from the car park is without steps. A threshold bar exists at the rear entrance however this is easily negotiated. Access from either ground floor bedroom to the lounge or breakfast room is flat and carpeted. We are pleased to assist with seating arrangements for breakfast. Please note that all doors have self closing devices however we are always willing to help if required. |
